Primero hablemos de cómo preparar la dos is correcta de insulina.
First let’s talk about how to prepare the correct dose of insulin.
Lávese las manos.
Wash your hands.
Primero revise el nombre de la insulina en el frasco y ruede el frasco de insulina entre las manos para mezclarla.
First check the name of the insulin on the bottle and roll the bottle between your hands to mix it.
Si es un frasco nuevo, quite la cobertura protectora del frasco.
If it’s a new bottle, take the bottle’s protective cover off.
Después limpie el tapón del frasco con alcohol usando una telita de algodón.
Then clean the bottle’s top (stopper) with alcohol using a small cotton pad.
Ahora tome la jeringa con una mano y con la otra quite el tapón sin tocar la aguja.
Now take the syringe with one hand and with the other take off the cap without touching the needle.
Muy bien.

Tome nota de la cantidad de unidades que se va a aplicar.
Take note of the number of units you are going to give yourself.
Entonces jale hacia atrás el émbolo de la jeringa para introducir una cantidad de aire que es igual a la dosis.
Then pull back on the plunger of the syringe to introduce an amount of air equal to your dose.
Luego inserte la aguja de la jeringa a través del tapón del frasco y empuje el émbolo hacia adelante para inyectar el aire en el frasco.
Then insert the needle of the syringe through the stopper of the bottle and push the plunger forward to inject the air into the bottle.
De acuerdo.

Ponga el frasco boca abajo, dejando la aguja en el frasco.
Put the bottle upside down, leaving the needle in the bottle.
Ahora asegúrese de que la aguja esté dentro de la insulina y jale el émbolo hacia atrás para cargar en la jeringa la dosis que se va a aplicar.
Now make sure that the needle is inside the insulin and pull the plunger back in order to fill the syringe with the dose you are going to take.
Si quedan burbujas en la jeringa, golpéela suavemente para que las burbujas floten hacia la superficie. Así.
If bubbles remain in the syringe, tap it gently so that the bubbles float to the the surface. Like this.
Ya veo.
I see.
Ahora empuje el émbolo de la jeringa para expulsar las burbujas y jale el émbolo hacia atrás para cargar la dosis correcta de insulina. Ojalá esta vez sin burbujas.
Now push the plunger of the syringe to expel the the bubbles and pull the plunger back to load the right dose of insulin. Hopefully this time without bubbles.
Muy bien.
