Lesson 1: Evaluating a Lung Nodule – Listen
In this lesson, you will hear a dialogue with a patient recently seen in the emergency room for chest pain. During that visit, a lung nodule greater than 8 mm was incidentally found on her CT scan. Therefore, the doctor recommends she undergo a PET scan to further characterize the nodule. After the dialogue, we practice saying ER, CT scan, and nodule in Spanish.

In this lesson, we discuss scheduling the PET scan in Spanish. The doctor explains she will have to fast for 6 hours before the exam and follow a low carbohydrate diet the day before the exam. She explains that the radiology department will provide her with more information in written form, and that she should not hesitate to contact them if she still has questions. First, we listen to the doctor's explanations. Then, we interpret each line as we review the vocabulary and grammar.

In this lesson, we will do the following in Spanish: 1) Ask about prior imaging studies, 2) Recommend follow up imaging, and 3) Recommend a bronchoscopy and tissue biopsy. First, we listen. Then, we interpret each line as we review the vocabulary and grammar.
