INTRODUCTIONS
When introducing yourself, remember the definite article before your title.
Buenos días. Soy la doctora Martin.
Good morning. I’m doctor Martin.
Buenas tardes. Soy la enfermera Sara.
Good afternoon. I’m nurse Sara.
When referring to a person with their title we always use the
definite article “el” or “la” unless we are directly addressing them.
Buenas noches. ¿Es usted la señora Ortiz?
Good evening. Are you Mrs. Ortiz?
Buenas tardes, señora Ortiz.
Good evening, Mrs. Ortiz.
Buenas noche, doctora Martin.
Good evening, doctor Martin.
¿Conoce a la señora Gómez?
Do you know Mrs. Gómez?
Buenos días. Soy la doctora Martin.
