Describing Our Skin in Spanish

This is a more basic audio lesson that covers useful vocabulary for describing our skin in Spanish. Learn how to describe rashes, spots, lumps, bumps, and injuries in Spanish.

Rash

(la) erupción – break out, rash
(el) sarpullido / salpullido – rash
(las) ronchas – hives/welts

Spots

(las) manchas – spots
(el) lunar – mole
(las) pecas – freckles

Lumps and Bumps

(los) granitos – little bumps
(el) grano, granito, barrito – pimple
(la) espinilla – pimple, blackhead
(la) verruga – wart
(la) bola, (el) bulto – lump

Injuries

(la) llaga – sore
(la) cortada / (el) corte – cut
cortar – to cut
(el) rasguño / rascado – scratch
rascar – to scratch
(la) rozadura – chafing
rozar – to chafe
(la) úlcera – ulcer
(la) quemadura – burn
(el) moretón – bruise
(la) cicatriz – scar

Bites

(la) mordedura – bite
morder – to bite
(la) picadura – insect bite
picar – to sting

Parts of the Body

I have a mole on my cheek.

He has little bumps all over his body
Tiene granitos por todo el cuerpo.

You have bruises on your knees.
Tienes moretones en las rodillas.

The little girl has ulcers in her mouth.
La niña tiene úlceras en la boca.

She has a lump on her breast.
Tiene un bulto en el pecho.

I have a dog bite on my hand.
Tengo una mordedura de perro en la mano.

She has hives on her abdomen.
Tiene ronchas en el abdomen.

My daughter has pimples on her face.
Mi hija tiene granitos / barritos / espinillas en la cara.

They have insect bites on their arms and legs.
Tienen picaduras en los brazos y las piernas.

They have sores on their backs.
Tienen llagas en la espalda.

She has an ulcer on her foot.
